  10. *     Since the present object is to elucidate the effective 
  11. causality of phonetic writing in setting up new kinds of 
  12. perception, let us turn to a paper (7) by Professor John Wilson 
  13. of the African Institute of London University. For literate 
  14. societies it is not easy to grasp why nonliterates cannot see in 
  15. three dimensions or perspective. We assume that this is normal 
  16. vision and that no training is needed to view photos or films.
